Littered Fishing Spot TEDDY

Cleaned up a load of trash from a popular fishing spot. Removed 169 recyclables, 1 bag of trash and some car parts and tools. Fisherman need to step up their game and take out more than they bring in. Duhernal TEDDY

Went the other way for a change towards fresh water Duhernal. Removed 20 recyclables, a chunk of Styrofoam and a Coleman Camping stove. Maiden Voyage SS Garbage Raft TEDDY

Debut of the garbage raft. Benefits: Hold garbage out of kayak, stay cleaner, hold more per trip, increased arm workout. Drawbacks: Wind resistance, greater likelihood of getting tangled, chance to puncture raft, harder to paddle. I would rate it as moderately successful based of wind and tide conditions. Went back to the garbage spot I discovered 2 TEDDYS ago and continued with the cleanup effort. 2 more tires, 63 Recyclables and one back of non recyclable trash. Used my vacation day wisely. Had an abnormally high tide. Knew I was going to find a lot of refuse since we had 2 good days of rain. My wildest expectations were met and I removed 142 recyclables and one bags worth of trash. Also discovered a particularly disturbing garbage gyre where tires and trash have collected and will be the singular location of my next 3 or more TEDDYS.
